I'm having the same problem with xfmedia on my Core 2 Duo 7200 in 64bit
using Fedora Core 7.

Xine works fine, but xfmedia dies with the same X error as shown in the bug.

Using "nv", there is no video output window, just a very wide, 1 pix
height empty window.
