More or less, yes. The current menu system should be replaced with a
completely new implementation that fully follows the freedesktop.org
menu standard. This will allow you a lot of flexibility in how the menu
is organised. I'm not sure that we'll distribute a default menu file
that mimics the 'multilevel' feature, but it would definitely be
possible to construct one on your own (or find someone else who's done
the same and simply drop in their menu file).
