How long will 4.2.x be supported?

We just did a maintenance release on the 4.2.x branch a few days ago.
If serious security problems are found, we'd probably do a bugfix
release, but unless it turns out a lot of people are sticking with 4.2
and continue to file new bug reports on it, I wouldn't expect any
further releases on 4.2.  We hardly have enough time as it is for new
development on the dev branch and bugfixing on the current stable branch.

Sorry that's kinda an "it depends" answer; hopefully you can make a
decision based on that.
