I just checked, when workspace is set in SN, it's placed on the
specified workspace (xfwm4 takes care of this).

I still believe it's more approriate than the "start" programs that wait
for a map notify event and change ewmh props on behalf of the app or the
WM. I find these solutions hacky a prone to race conditions. the SN
looks a lot more better IMHO.
