What's new in xfwm4 version 4.4?

Hi all,

I realize that most of the new things in xfwm4 4.4 are not necessarily
known. So I tried to compile a quick list of some of the new stuff that
are in xfwm4 version 4.4.

What's new in xfwm4 version 4.4?

Usability

- - New WM tweaks configuration plug-in,
- - Separate shortcut application launcher, allowing for unlimited number
of shortcuts,
- - Improved focus stealing prevention, but still disabled by default,
- - New default window placement, center windows on screen when smaller
than some (configurable) amount of screen size,
- - Improved alt-tab dialog,
- - Automatically unmaximize/remaximize windows when moving maximized
windows (ala Metacity),
- - Add name of host when running remote apps (ala Metacity).

Emebedded compositor

- - Improved embedded compositor, add support for separate transparency
value for windows frames and popup windows (configurable through the new
WM tweaks plugin)
- - Enable compositor by default, testing XRender at startup to disable
compositing on slower hardware.
- - Add support for ARGB and multiple depths windows.

Themes and graphics

- - Add support for multiple image formats in theme components, including
SVG, GIF, JPEG or even BMP if available in gdk-pixbuf,
- - Remove the requirement on libXPM by implementing the XPM pixmap
loading with color substitution internally (as gdk-pixbuf's XPM loader
lacks support for color substitution),
- - Add support for application icon in window menu button.

There are probably other cool stuff that I forget...
