I'd vote for integrating Xarchiver into Xfce. There's certainly some
stuff to be done for Xarchiver (the first being to improve the
portability), but otherwise it's already in good shape and Giuseppe
was/is already working on integration into Xfce (actually Thunar).
So if nobody complains it should be merged into Xfce SVN (if Auke
agrees). I think both Xfce and Xarchiver will benefit from this merge.
Xfce needs a good archive manager (as Auke already explained) -
file-roller is really heavy for lightweight distros and the focus is on
GNOME - and on the other side Giuseppe is looking for additional
developers/help, not to forget the huge list of translators that are
working on Xfce.
