I guess it's some sort of a race condition. After some more tests, I've realized
it doesn't happen always (althought it's very frequent) and not all xfapplets
currently in the panel are affected (supposing I had 5 of them, maybe 3 or 4
show the messages -- sometimes all of them).

Interesting, it didn't occur to me that the panel could be crashing before the
messages. I'll provide a backtrace soon.

No, it doesn't seem to be crashing, but I'll check that more closely.
