This is interesting.  After I leave the compositor off for a while, I'll
turn it back on, and see if I can reproduce this again.  If so, I'll try
disabling my kbd shortcuts for workspace switching as well (I doubt I'd
be disciplined to not use them otherwise ^_~) to see if that helps.
