I poked around in it last night to see how feasible it would be to use
pango's text rotation features to do sideways text with a vertical
tasklist.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of things in the tasklist that
assumes it's horizontal, so it would be a huge PITA to change at this point.

I really think we should plan to rewrite NetkTasklist for 4.6.  Or maybe
 at least glance at libwnck and see if the current tasklist code is any
nicer (or has features we want).
