Programs crash when changing orientation of xfce4-panel

Maybe, let's wait until Jasper fixed #2598 and then look if it gets
better.

I think more if it's a GTK (probably GDK) weakness. What could/should
applications do to prevent this? In geany I just use gtk_window_maximize
() and I assumed GTK in conjunction with the used WM does the stuff for
me.
And I hope you take this a bit more serious that it sounds, because no
matter where the actual bug is, it should be fixed. If it is in
xfce4-panel or xfwm4, the need to fix is obvious. If it is a GTK bug,
you should also be interested in fixing it because Xfce relies
completely on GTK and if the bug is really on application side, you
just should be interested in to find a solution for the Xfce apps like
xfburn, xfmedia and so on.
Don't get me wrong, but it sounds to me as you are a bit annoyed by
this, but I just want to help.
