thunar - permission chooser / detailed view

Hi,

a) what is the point why I can't change the executable bit by using
   thunars permission chooser? What's about sticky, setuid, setgid?
b) Is there a way to make the lines in the detailed view not so high so I
   can get more files into the view? I would like to have the line-high
   in detailed view like it is in the compact-view because I have much
   space between each file in the detailed view now :-/
