I think it should have a LED view.

I think it should have a analog view. At least at large panel sizes it
makes sense.

It should be possible. At least the font size, but then you can make the
whole font configurable because there's a font dialog button in Gtk already.

I think it should be part of the translation so that each translator
could choose the most "native" date format. E.g. in USA it's common to
write "Oct 23 2005" (or with some dots and commas, I don't remember ;)),
in Germany "23.10.2005" is the most common representation, or the whole
month ("23. Oktober 2005").
In my opinition there should be only one date/time plugin with all
features. Goodie or not doesn't matter, but not two different. It's just
confusing, IMHO.
