In my mind they are almost entirely separate issues. The critique and 
discussion of the user interface is _exactly_ what I want to happen 
right now.

Remember, this is just a first attempt at a user interface for multiple 
panels. I fully expect there to be large changes before we find the best 
method.

I'm not responding to the actual content of your mail yet, I'm still 
reading the rest of the thread ;-)
