I have altered the patch so that both these conditions are satisfied.
The start up time is same as before since the patch does nothing at
that time. When the TAB key is hit the first time, the list of system
executables is generated and completion is done. If the user then uses
the tab key in the same session again, there is no performance hit
since the executables list is already generated.
This feels much better that loading things at startup, as you have suggested.
Please apply if this is OK, otherwise, please comment.
