Really?  Works fine for me with ~5000 items in the playlist.  Could you 
describe exactly what's wrong?  I'd like to try to fix it.

No applet, but it wouldn't be too difficult to write one.  Assuming I 
don't break the plugin interface again.  Which I definitely will, and 
very soon...
