Compositor is slow unless you have a render performed in hw, and AFAIK,
only ATI and NVidia with closed source drivers do can do that. What's
the point of making Xfce slow when advertising it as a "lightweight"
desktop environment?

I do support the compositor (see http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?
id=694)
when I can actually reproduce the problem on one my systems.
