Ah, ok. Hmm, that would be possible I guess...

In fact, it is already possible, but plugins must implement that for 
themselves.

I could also implement the menu item differently, not emitting a signal, 
but creating a dialog (like the 4.2 API), with a remove button and maybe 
even position settings. Might be more familiar to people coming from 4.2 
as well. It would break API though...
