I tend to agree with Jens and Brian as XOrg itself doesn't really 
seem that stable concerning the xcomposite extensions yet.
But I'd say we wait for Olivier's approach first and decide about 
wether to include it in 4.2 afterwards. That of course would 
requiere tagging a 4.2(-alpha?) release now or even opening up a new 
developement branch in CVS.
