Supporting Base Dir Spec

Well, excuse me, but thats stupid. It was written to use XDG dirs from 
day one (I don't consider the previous 0.1.x worth to be mentioned). Why 
rewrite all the code to not use XDG dirs now and then rewrite it again 
after 4.2 is released? Thats simply waste of time.
