I've been using that at work for over a year now, and I have to second
this thought. mpd does a great job of playing, stays out of the way, and,
if you're using gmpc, you've got a systray icon you can use to access
the player and playlist. It doesn't get much more minimalist -- yet
fully featured -- then this.
