xfdesktop (4.2 beta) aborts/crashes on startup

Thanks for your help. I commented out the particular assertions in the
libart_lgpl, re-compiled libart and got xfdesktop working.
Now everything is working fine.
I am wondering how this bug is going to affect final XFCE 4.2. Even
though it is libart bug, they haven't released a newer version fixing
this issue. Hence, it might affect a bunch of users when xfce4.2 final
is released. Atleast, this information should be added in FAQ or some
other place, so that this is visible.
