i'm not sure this is always so useful. i keep my panel in the top right
corner of the screen, and an always-on-top autohidden xfmedia in the top
left. if a window maximised under it the panel, i'd be unable to
unmaximise it without some annoyance. i suppose i'm not against a hidden
pref, aside from being against hidden prefs in general.
