yeah - you _are_ techincally correct, as "hi" isn't really a word in 
this case, it's just a shortening of "high".  kinda dumb, IMO, but 
everyone seems to love to abbreviate things just to save a few 
keystrokes (not saying i'm not guilty of it myself sometimes).
