panel problem

Hi all, especially Jazman,
I ran into a problem with the panel. On returning from suspend state,
for some unknown reason my freebsd box crashed. So I reboot and
startxfce4 again. And *oh* surprise. My panel is reduced to nothing but
the top and bottom handlers. At my .xfce4 directory, my xfce4rc.bak is
reduced to 0B in size. This is what is left in xfce4rc:
xfce<?xml version="1.0"?>
<Xfce>
<Panel orientation="1" layer="1" size="0" popupposition="1"
icontheme="FreeIcons" groups="0">
<Position x="0" y="417" screenwidth="1152" screenheight="864"/>
</Panel>
<Groups/>
</Xfce>
Bye bye notes. Bye bye configuration. It's seems like the failsafe
backup mechanism may be a bit drastic and trash configuration when
certain things go wrong.
regards,
Edscott
