I'm very interested to see what you come up with, but ... (there's
always a 'but', isn't there? ;-)

Keep in mind that there probably is a reason all the big players use the
desktop window approach. IIRC, ROX changed to using a desktop window for
performance reasons and easier blending and anti-aliasing of icons.

BTW, if you mean by icons on the desktop, laucher icons / shortcuts, I
really don't like those. If you mean minimized program icons, I'm all
for it, provided they can be turned off.

hmm, edscott, you are aware that running xfdesktop again will update the
background, aren't you?

I do intend to change it a little, adding an <include /> tag to include
other menu files, but otherwise it should stay the same.
