usability in panel and xffm: pre-selected texts

hmm .... It was Norway, and only one lovely woman ;) 

All the above glitches are obviously not intentional and most likely
just the default widget to get the focus from gtk, i.e. no explicit
focussing. I do agree of course it would be better to change it. Just
remind me if I forget ;-)
