Ok, you won :-). So heres my suggestion:

ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/gettext/gettext-0.11.5.tar.gz

I don't know of other gettext versions, but I know this one works. Until
someone knows a good reason to use another gettext version, we could
standardize on this one. Opinions?
