xfwm4 &/or xftaskbar4 & gnome-panel weirdness

I used to run gnome-panel (1.x) with xfce a lot and thought I would see what
happens in XFce4 cvs from today(-24hrs).  I don't know if it is a " bug " but
it does not seem proper that gnome-panel (or any external ap) can cause that
to happen.  gnome-panel v2.0.6 was being used and it caused it. The anomaly
disappears and the xftaskbar4 returns to normal as soon as gnome panel is
closed.  I don't know if it killed the pager or just pushed it off the screen
edge. The little handle that appeared is not usable to move the taskbar, of
course.
Absolutetly repeatable  here  (gtk+-2.06, MDK9).
- would somebody else like to try it and see if they get the same result?
