Well, I'm probably against putting it in the release, but I just made
quite a nice patch for the panel (IMO). 

With the patch you can open a panel menu by pressing down the laucher
button it is associated with and holding that down for a certain time.
Useful if you don't like or have trouble hitting the small menu buttons.
