This is definately a task for a session manager which is still missing for XFce4 (but on
the TODO list). Nevertheless all XFce4 components support session management (you might
have noticed the error messages at the console telling you that a session manager hasn't
been found) so you may use the session manager of your choice (like gnome-session or xsm)
in connection with XFce4.

Well .. there are always workarounds ;-)
