As someone who never used CDE I'm always guessing what the good things
of CDE are that we want to keep. So that's why I ask these questions
sometimes.

So about this iconification. I don't mind having it there, but I was
wondering about its usefulness. The main function of the panel is quick
access to programs, right? So if you iconify the panel you lose that
aspect. If the panel is in the way, or takes too much screen real-estate
wouldn't a root menu be more appropriate?
