I agree wholeheartedly. BTW, I just found something called CDEmu, at  
http://empc27.tte.ele.tue.nl/cde-theme.tar.bz2. It includes a gtk engine that makes XFce and other gtk apps look almost scaringly like the CDE. Perhaps something for the Old Gits(TM) among us?
