Problem running XFwm4

Yep, I copied the default.keys directory from the CVS tarball to 
/usr/share/xfwm4/ and now at least the window manager starts.  I still 
can't run the xfce4 panel.  If I start it from ~/.xinitrc after xfwm4, 
xfwm4 loses its connection to the display.  If I start it from an xterm 
after xfwm4 starts it seg faults.

I'm thinking maybe I would be better off forgetting about the Debian 
packages and installing from source.  A project for another day...
