Actually, speaking about menus: Messing around with oroborus, I also found a
small app named "deskmenu" doing right this - implementing root menus. Based
on gtk1.x, this by now is pretty neat since it's possible to set it up using a
quite straightforward configuration file, and it's also possible to run
several instances of this deskmenu, assigning a personally designed menu to
each mouse button you might want to use for that purpose. It's pretty slim,
too, and it's a neat small package. Since I am right now trying to get started
with GTK programming and also using deskmenus source code to understand a few
things about this, perhaps I could try to make this work with gtk2 to probably
be used with XFCE4?
