getting out of alt+tab switcher with with a shortcut

The thing (I think it’s called pager) that I can use to switch between
applications, invoked with Alt + Tab, disappears by itself when
I release its keybinding.  Does it remain on the screen for you?

NOTE: I’m a Xfce user, not developer or contributor.
