There is a link to this bug for Thunar on Github in the Bugzilla you quote below. There is also a redirection to Gitlab for Ristretto.
I think you should rather open a new issue on Gitlab for Thunar (since the Github one doesn't seem to have been ported), and use the one opened for Ristretto if needed, rather than the mailing list.
It's better if things are grouped there, it's more practical and your observations will have more chances to be taken into account :)
