Icon entry in .desktop file

Good idea. I installed nautilus and am getting the same behavior. (Nautilus is showing it recognized the locally defined xdg-mime types).

It's probably my fault, but I'm at a loss as how to narrow it down to something specific I'm doing/not doing.

Can you try if Nautilus shows the same icons ?

If it is thunar's fault, probably thunar-icon-factory.c is a good place
to start debugging.
