HI,

this change was introduced as a side-effect by:

https://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/commit/?h=xfce-4.12&id=c0d13b6a806cd25c43fe75aadf7936417a0109b8

( Both Thunar 1.8.x and thunar 1.6.17 have these fixes, and will expand
$HOME )

Afaik currently there is no way to dont expand for a specific folder,
though it should be easy to add a check in order to get the prevous
behaviour.

On the other hand, IMO it makes sense to treat all folders the same.

Could you please open a bug on bugzilla.xfce.org for further discussion ?

Cheers,
Alexander Schwinn
