Bad display setting -

Apparently I have made a bad setting in the xfce4 settings display gui 
and can no longer get a working xfce desktop display.

I can ssh into the problem computer [fedora 28] but have no idea what 
file I can mess with to try and get back to a default condition.

Any suggestion appreciated,
