Turning backlight on

It has always worked well for me.  But I am at IETF going in and out of 
suspend as I move from session to session.  ANd it has been 12 days 
(really not that long) since the last reboot.

I have this work around, in that if I run from battery and wait the time 
that is set for battery to dim the screen, if then I move the mouse, it 
goes to full brightness.
