How to disable notification popups?

That sounds interesting, I'll give it a try, thanks!

In fact I formerly installed xfce4-volumed in order to get
notifications when I press the laptop's volume keys. Without this
plugin, I don't get these notifications (xfce4-notify doesn't seem to
act there because it's using DBUS only and I presume it's normal).
