Slapped a know bad drive in the system at got the
following from the command line, but no pop up in the
taskbar. Ran palimpsest and this time I got a green light
on the drive with "a few bad spots" message. So maybe this
was not a good test.
$ /usr/libexec/gdu-notification-daemon
