Inconsistent mouse size settings

Something I noticed when reinstalling Xubuntu, the default mouse size when
running the installer/live cd is much smaller than the default cursor size
when running from the hard drive.
Where is the system-wide default mouse size kept in Xfce? I'd be curious,
to look at that file on the installed computer, and on the live cd version.
