There is no replacement for gvfs. Use it. If you want better hard drive
settings, use hdparm or sdparm.
For easy desktop menu editing use menulibre, available for both arch and
*buntu.
Or use »exo-desktop-item-edit -c ~/.local/share/applications/«.
