I agree with you in this regard and I've removed them in GIT

Sorry. It's more work to maintain more variants. But changing the menubar
color is extremely easy if you can edit the gtkrc, gtk.css and settings.ini
files in the theme.

You've to edit the gtkrc and gtk-widgets,css files to enable steppers.
