In Belgium (and perhaps France) the AltGR key is already used to type €
with AltGR+E and some others as well:

So that means that it is very individual if you want to dedicate that key
to something else.

As explained above, the AltGr key can be used in certain situations. The
CAPS-LOCK key however has no real value in any language that I know of. In
fact disabeling it would be the best way to do it.

I have seen people who use it to type in their password. Those are also
the people who need a reset the most. :-/

On a side note, it would be great if changing the settings in XFCE was
possible via GUI. What you can do regarding the EURO in XFCE is go to
Keyboard. Take the tab Layout. I have the English (US) layout. I select
'Edit' and under English, I select 'English (US, with euro on 5)' and now
I can do AltGr+5 and I get €.

Selecting what key should be the compose key would be a nice addition to
the options. Mmm. Where was it again that I can ask for a feature?
