I'm not a regular Windows user either but I think Aero Snap is manual 
1/2 tiling as in Xfce 4.10.

Automatic tiling means that windows are arranged according to a scheme 
in order to minimize unused space. Eg, with a spiral layout on a blank 
desktop successively opening 3 windows gives the layout

where k = 1..3 is the window number.

Does opensnap do this?
