Ops, I missed the fact that's specific to Xfce. So two possibilities I see: 1) Corrupted session. solution: logout, ctrl+alt+f1, login, rm -rf .cache/sessions .cache/xfce4, logout from console and back to Xfce. 2) Theme issue: solution: chnage theme in Settings>Appearance.
