Hmmmm.  This completely disables power management.  It will either help
or do nothing.  I will try it out.

SL6.2x64 /dev/sda is an LSI (semi) hardware raid controller
FC16x64 /dev/sda is a SATA drive

On my SL 6.2x64, I notice the problem when I first start up and go
to check my web mail.  I will get to a certain point and Firefox
will freeze up, I look down and my fancy high efficiency White LED
hard drive lamp will be flashing away.  When the the flashing
stops, Firefox wakes back up.
