System-wide logout script?

I don't want to leave this up to the users. The script I want to run  
is meant to trigger replication of directories information among  
several file servers. All that should happen in the background without  
the users ever being involved, just like /etc/bash.bash_logout is run  
automatically when users exit the bash shell.
